As some of you are aware, Firefox’s latest update has starting blocking mixed content, by default. This follows in the path of Internet Explorer, which has blocked mixed content for a number of years, and Google Chrome, which started blocking back on Chrome 14. However, given the large user base of Firefox in education, this latest update has caused single video embed codes and playlists to be blocked, increasing technical support issues with Ensemble Video self-hosted implementations.
In order to prevent this from happening, we recommend that on-premise and consortium installs of Ensemble Video set up and configure SSL for their platform. This would mean all embed codes would be prefixed with an HTTPS, and thus avoid the “mixed content” warning.
