If you want to publish a playlist to a specific web page or another web platform, you can use the Embed function to generate HTML code that can be pasted to the external site.

There are two options for the layout.

A Playlist is a simple single-column layout with a thumbnail and description of each video. The content in a normal playlist opens in a new player window for viewing. The playlist is ideal for a small collection of content, or for videos that should be watched sequentially.

A Showcase is a multi-column version of the playlist, with an area for featured content and added support for grouping content categorically.

Creating the Embed Code

To generate the plug-in code for a playlist, click Playlists in the navigation pane, then click the Embed Playlist button corresponding to the playlist you’d like to publish.

The Plug-in Install window will load with a ready-to-use embed code using the default settings. If you don’t want to customize the playlist, copy the code in the code window (highlighted below), and paste it to the intended destination.

Configuring a Playlist

To create a custom playlist, open the Plug-In Install menu using the same steps outlined above.

Under Custom Options & Appearance, the Playlist option is the layout selected by default.
Configuring a Showcase is covered later in this guide.

Scroll down for the Playlist Layout sub-menu. From here, you can specify how the playlist should be sorted and/or filtered when it loads.

The Sort By option has several automatic options like Date Added or Title.

To manually sort the playlist, click the Sort By drop-down, and select Custom Order.

Drag and sort the desired items into the Custom Order column on the right.

Type in a name for the new custom order in the custom order name text box, then click Save Custom Order.

Once you’ve made a custom order, it will be available in the Saved Custom Orders dropdown.

Continue to Content Details to control what features will be included in the playlist.

Some of these settings are enabled by default, such as Include Embed Code. This option allows a viewer to embed the playlist on their own website. If you want to restrict publishing to your own website(s), disable this option.

Scroll down further for the CSS Style Sheet sub-form. From here, you can select a custom CSS style sheet to apply to your playlist (optional).

To enter the path to your custom stylesheet, first click the Use Custom Stylesheet checkbox.
Recommended: Download the standard CSS stylesheet to use as as a starting-point for your CSS.

Continue down to the Content Width and Periodical Update Interval sub-form (optional).

The Max Content Width field is useful if you are embedding into a narrow page or column.

When you’re done configuring, scroll down to the code window at the bottom of the screen.

Select a Layout Mode by clicking the layout mode drop-down. In the image above, iFrame Responsive has been selected by default. You can expand the list by creating Playlist Templates.

The built-in iFrame or JavaScript options offer the same features. Both options are available in case either mode conflicts with the website where you’re embedding the plug-in code. Use a Responsive option for a player with a flexible player layout. Use a non-responsive option is you would prefer to specify a specific/fixed Size.

Click the Preview button to view your finished playlist in a new window. Then, return to the Plug-In Install window and click inside the code textbox to select the entire HTML code snippet, and copy & paste it into another website to complete the process. Important: the code textbox at the top of the screen always shows the default view for references. Your changes are only reflected in the textbox at the bottom of the screen.

Configuring a Showcase

A Showcase is created using the same steps as a Playlist (above), with a few differences.

When you reach the Custom Options & Appearance step, select Showcase.

The Showcase Layout sub-menu has more options than the Playlist Layout menu, since the Showcase can include a Featured Content area and a Category List.

The Featured Content option allows you to add a built-in player to your playlist, with a curated selection of content. It is enabled by default, but you can adjust the Featured Content Options to control what content is included.

The Category List option adds several columns or rows of content grouped by category to the showcase.

All of the other steps for configuring a showcase are the same as Configuring a Playlist.
