Ensemble Video Version 5.6 and above allows content administrators (instructors) and viewers in an LMS (students) to take notes while watching videos, making it easy to share and collaborate using videos notes to enhance teaching, learning and communication. Video notes can be searched, clicked, edited and shared, making them engaging and useful in a number of contexts. Additionally, notes will appear time-stamped right along with the section of the video that corresponds with the video note. Supported LMS integrations are Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas and Brightspace by D2L. Note: Video Notes can also be added in the web interface, learn more here.

Types of Video Notes
All Notes (Instructor Video Notes & Student Video Notes)
When Ensemble Video content has been added through a supported LMS LTI integration, both instructors and students can click, search and share video notes. After launching the video in an LMS, the user can choose Show > All Notes (Course Name in LMS). Video note types:
- Video Note from a Content Administrator (Instructor) = Black Note icon
- Video Note from an Authentication LMS Viewer (Student) = White Note icon

Content Administrator Notes (Instructor Video Notes)
Content Administrators (Instructors) can make their video notes available to any viewer so they can be search, clicked and shared. After launching the video, the content administrator will choose Show > Video Notes. The content administrator can search their notes, add a note, and choose the note options. The content administrator video notes will have a Black Note icon next to each note.

Viewer Notes (Student Video Notes)
When using Ensemble Video in and integrated LMS, students can take private video notes (My Notes), edit video notes, and share their video notes with the entire class. After launching the video, the Viewer (Student) will choose Show > My Notes (Student Name). The viewer can search their notes, add a note, and choose note options. The viewer notes will have a White Note icon next to each note.

How to
Add Video Notes
Go to the Notes panel to add a video note. You can either play the video or scrub the timeline using the arrows in the Notes panel. Once you find the location in the timeline where you want to add the video note, begin typing in the text box highlighted below. The video will pause to allow you to finish the video note. Hit the Enter key to save your video note (or click the Note button). The video note will be displayed below the editing interface. Video playback will then resume where you paused.
Make Video Notes Public/Private
Go to the Notes panel. In the top right area you can make your video notes public or private by clicking on the Eye icon.

For example, if a student makes their notes Public all participants in the LMS course will see the student video notes. Conversely, if a student makes their video notes Private
only the student will see the video notes.
Edit Video Notes
Go to the Notes panel. Find the video note you would like to edit and click on the Options Icon , then click the Edit button.
Next, edit the video note text and click the Save button or Cancel button.
Delete Video Notes
Go to the Notes panel. Find the video note you would like to delete and click on the Options Icon , then click the Delete button.
Next, click the Yes button to delete the video note.
Share Video Notes
Go to the Notes panel. Find the video note you would like to share and click on the Options Icon , then click the Share Button.
Next, click the sharing platform or tool to share.
