Ensemble Video Product Sunset FAQs

Many Ensemble Video customers have a number of questions related to the sunsetting of the product which will occur on September 30th, 2022. Please click on the question below to learn more:


Can we continue to run Ensemble Video software after the platform sunsets or after expiration of our licenses, subscriptions or services?

Ensemble Video Self-Hosted annual or perpetual license

  • The Ensemble Video platform will not run as there are third party components that will fail. Some functionality may exist, but use at your own risk.
  • Other components including Studio and Anthem, and services such as Transcoder and CDN streaming will not continue to run.
  • Third party integrations like the Caption Editor and Automatic Closed Captions will no longer work.
  • There will be no maintenance or support provided.

Ensemble Video Cloud-Hosted subscription

  • Ensemble Video and all related software and services will no longer run.
  • Other annual licenses, including Studio and Anthem, and services such as Transcoder and CDN streaming will not continue to run.
  • Third party integrations like the Caption Editor and Automatic Closed Captions will no longer work.
  • There will be no maintenance or support provided.

After we migrate to Panopto, what happens to our Ensemble Video cloud-hosted content?

  • After your migration to Panopto, your Ensemble Video content will be securely deleted 60 days after license expiration.

If we do not migrate to Panopto, what happens to our cloud-hosted content after our Ensemble Video subscription expires?

  • No later than five (5) business days after your subscription expiration date, email us (support@ensemblevideo.com) your request to retrieve your content.
  • Upon receipt of your timely written request, we will promptly create an FTP account for you to download your content. 
  • You will have thirty (30) days from your subscription expiration date to download your content, then your content will be deleted.
  • If we do not receive your written request five (5) business days after your subscription expiration date, your content will be deleted.

Can we extend our Ensemble Video software licenses, subscriptions and services until our migration to Panopto is complete?

Contact your Panopto Account Executive who will work with you to ensure the Ensemble Video licenses, subscriptions and services you need are available during the migration process.
